On behalf of the
Marley Cooling Tower Company MCTC) , enclosed you will find a copy of a
letter report which describes the Carroll Avenue soil sampling activity
and presents the corresponding analytical results.
As I had advised you on August 9, 1991, the sampling results confirm that
MCTC wood treatment operations did not affect the concentrations of
Arsenic or Total Chromium in the surface soils sampled along Carroll
Avenue. The enclosed analytical results support this conclusion since
according to the Remedial Investigation Report (May 1990, Table 3-14) the
upper background concentrations of these constituents are 10 mg/kg and 46
mg/kg, respectively.
Please call me at (913) 338-6656 or Thomas Hickey at (913) 338-6554 with
any questions that you may have.
Very truly yours,
BLACK & VEATCH
Cr_e_; a. flju-ea
Craig A.
