Appendix C:Inhat Study Checklist Former Marley Cooling Tower Company,Stockton,CA <br /> Drilling at the Franklin High School property is focused underneath a developed athletic field. Injections are anticipated to <br /> be completed using 3-4 inch hollow drill casings filled with a leading carbide cutting shoe. Drill casings are expected to be <br /> advanced into the subsurface inside a 6-inch diameter steel conductor casing by coring method to injection target depths. <br /> Based on the information stated in the Environmental Setting, consultation with a qualified archaeologist and a Native <br /> American monitor will be conducted and recommendations implemented before subsurface disturbances are undertaken. <br /> Through consultation and implementation of recommendations, impacts to cultural resources would be considered less <br /> than significant. <br /> Conclusion: <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Impact <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Unless Mitigated <br /> ® Less Then Significant Impact <br /> ❑ No Impact <br /> b. Cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of an archeological resource pursuant to 15064.5. <br /> Impact Analysis: Based on the information stated in the Environmental Setting and historical consultation of the targeted <br /> drilling area that will occur, disturbance to cultural resources is not anticipated. In the event cultural resources are found <br /> in the course of the project activities, work will be suspended while the qualified archaeologist makes further assessment <br /> of the area and arrangements are made to preserve any resources that are located. Also refer to the response to item d. <br /> concerning procedures for disposition of human remains in the event they are located. <br /> Conclusion: <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Impact <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Unless Mitigated <br /> ® Less Than Significant Impact <br /> ❑ No Impact <br /> c. Directly or indirectly destroy a unique paleontological resource or site or unique geologic feature. <br /> Impact Analysis: Paleontological resources are not expected, The project involves drilling activities underground in <br /> previously disturbed areas within the City of Stockton. The drilling is underneath paved surfaces at the north and <br /> south yards of the site and three residential streets. Drilling at the Franklin High School property is focused <br /> underneath a developed athletic field <br /> Conclusion: <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Impact <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Unless Mitigated <br /> ® Less Than Significant Impact <br /> ❑ No Impact <br /> d. Disturb any human remains, including those interred outside of formai cemeteries. <br /> Impact Analysis: If human remains are discovered at a site, no further disturbance will occur in the location where the <br /> remains are found and the County Coroner will be notified pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 7050.5. The <br /> coroner should determine disposition within 48 hours. If the remains are Native American, the coroner is responsible <br /> for contacting the Native American Heritage Commission within 24 hours, and a Native American most likely <br /> descendent will be identified to make recommendation for the appropriate and dignified treatment of the remains <br /> (Public Resources Code, section 5097.98). <br /> Conclusion: <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Impact <br /> ❑ Potentially Significant Unless Mitigated <br /> ® Less Than Significant Impact <br /> ❑ No impact <br /> References Used: <br /> 1, 3,5; 7 <br /> Page 11 of 25 <br />
