Mr.Siddharth Sewalia and Mr.Martin Hermann
Notification of Adjustment to Full-Scale In Situ Treatment Performance Sampling of the North Yard
Former Marley Cooling Tower Site Page 3 June 4,2013
2010, (2) chromium concentrations at many locations are stable below the water quality
objective (WQO) (Table 1), and (3) 20 of the 24 wells would continue to be sampled under the
MRP Section I monitoring. The rational for individual well reduction is outlined below:
• MW-1 — Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since 1" quarter
2008.
• MW-2 — Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since lst quarter
2008.
• MW-6—Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since 1 st quarter 2011.
• MW-7—Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since 2nd quarter 2009.
• MW-8 — Chromium is decreasing and this shallow zone well is among several 2008
shallow zone injection points. The screen of this well extends 7 feet below the maximum
depth of reductant injection in this area and provides rational for the elevated chromium
concentrations.
• MW-101 —Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since I St quarter 2009.
• MW-102 — Chromium is decreasing and this shallow zone well was not specifically
targeted by the 2008 shallow zone injection points.
• MW-104 (S-2)—Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since 2nd quarter 2011.
• MW-105 —Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since 4th quarter 2008.
• MW-106—Chromium has been stable since 3rd quarter 2010.
• MW-202—Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since 1" quarter
2008.
• MW-206—Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since 1st quarter 2011.
• MW-207 — Chromium is stable and below clean-up goal threshold since 1St quarter 2008,
with periodic exceedances that are predominantly near the WQO.
• MW-208—Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since 1St quarter 2009.
• MW-210—Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since 1st quarter
2008.
• MW-211 —Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since I St quarter
2008.
• MW-214 (1-8)—Chromium is stable and far below the WQO since 4th quarter 2010.
• MW-300—Stable and far below clean-up goal threshold since 1St quarter 2008.
• MW-302—Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since 1" quarter
2008.
• MW-323 -Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since I St quarter
2008.
• MW-361 — Chromium is stable, far below and never exceeded the WQO since 1St quarter
2008.
