(MWH) has prepared this <br /> proposal letter addressing the request by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (CRWQCB)in Section VI of the Monitoring and Reporting Program(MRP)No.R5-2007-0126 <br /> and as part of the Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) for the SPX Corporation —Marley <br /> Cooling Tower Company Stockton Facility, to develop background concentrations associated <br /> with the MRP for the In-Situ Remedial Action Plan Amendment activities at the Former Marley <br /> Cooling Tower Site located in Stockton, California. <br /> As presented in the WDR/MRP,MWH proposes to conduct sampling of wells;MW-7,MW-201, <br /> MW-202,MW-210,MW-302,MW-304,and MW-401 (for well locations see attached Figure 1) <br /> to obtain additional information on background groundwater quality,and will be submitted to the <br /> Regional Board staff for review for consideration as background ranges. The background <br /> concentrations will be established as required in Section VI of the MRP No. R5-2007-0126. <br /> As stated in Finding 16 of the WDR, the same set of wells (above) will be used as compliance <br /> wells as part of the full-scale in-situ groundwater treatment,and will define the boundary of the <br /> groundwater treatment zone.
