Simon Date: September 21,2015 Proposed Work: Review of Overall Site Plan and Required Fire Prevention Plan for Future Exterior Tire Storage and Processing Facility for Used Tires COMMENTS - This plan check is not to be construed as an approval for any code items not noted, or commented on. It is the contractor's responsibility to conform to the provisions of all relevant laws, codes, ordinances, rules and regulations. Work shall not commence without approved plans unless specifically allowed by the Fire Chief. All inspections require the"APPROVED"job copy and job card to be available on the job site. California Fire Code Title 24, Part 9: Matters not provided for. Requirements that are essential for the public safety of an existing or proposed activity, building or structure, or for the safety of the occupants thereof, which are not specifically provided for by this code shall be determined by the fire code official. Inspections — Unless unusual circumstances arise, the developer shall provide at least twenty-four hours notice to the Fire Department to arrange an inspection. Inspection requests may be made by calling the telephone number liF'ed above and scheduling either an A.M. inspection (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) or a P.M. inspection (1:00 P.M. to 4:00 p.m.). Additional Fire Inspection Fee(s) — Additional fee(s) will be imposed for any additional fire inspections that are requested. PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTION: Access and Water Supply - Prior to commencement of construction, the Stockton Fire Department requires all access roads and water supplies to be sufficiently provided for the proposed development site. If there is any alteration to this requirement, the proposed development will be subject to a fine and construction may be shutdown for an indefinite period of time,or until compliance has been met. ADDITIONAL FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS: 1. KNOX Box — The facility requires a KNOX box that shall be installed in an approved location as per the Stockton Fire Department. 2. Gate Key Switches and/or Manual Locks — Secured gates shall be equipped with a fire key switch if the gate(s)is/are automated. If the gate(s) is/are manually operated,a chain and lock that can be easily cut will be allowed. 3. Fire Lane Dedication—Al fire lanes that have ben designated in the tire storage yard shall remain free and clear of obstruction. If the fire lanes abut any vertical curbing, those areas shall be painted red. The Final Approval 07/11/08
