Simon <br /> Date: September 21,2015 <br /> Proposed Work: Review of Overall Site Plan and Required Fire Prevention Plan for Future <br /> Exterior Tire Storage and Processing Facility for Used Tires <br /> COMMENTS - This plan check is not to be construed as an approval for any code items not noted, or commented <br /> on. It is the contractor's responsibility to conform to the provisions of all relevant laws, codes, ordinances, rules and <br /> regulations. Work shall not commence without approved plans unless specifically allowed by the Fire Chief. All <br /> inspections require the"APPROVED"job copy and job card to be available on the job site. <br /> California Fire Code Title 24, Part 9: Matters not provided for. Requirements that are essential for the public <br /> safety of an existing or proposed activity, building or structure, or for the safety of the occupants thereof, which are not <br /> specifically provided for by this code shall be determined by the fire code official. <br /> Inspections — Unless unusual circumstances arise, the developer shall provide at least twenty-four hours notice to <br /> the Fire Department to arrange an inspection. Inspection requests may be made by calling the telephone number <br /> liF'ed above and scheduling either an A.M. inspection (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) or a P.M. inspection (1:00 P.M. to <br /> 4:00 p.m.). <br /> Additional Fire Inspection Fee(s) — Additional fee(s) will be imposed for any additional fire inspections that are <br /> requested. <br /> PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTION: <br /> Access and Water Supply - Prior to commencement of construction, the Stockton Fire Department requires all <br /> access roads and water supplies to be sufficiently provided for the proposed development site. If there is any <br /> alteration to this requirement, the proposed development will be subject to a fine and construction may be <br /> shutdown for an indefinite period of time,or until compliance has been met. <br /> ADDITIONAL FIRE DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS: <br /> 1. KNOX Box — The facility requires a KNOX box that shall be installed in an approved location as per the <br /> Stockton Fire Department. <br /> 2. Gate Key Switches and/or Manual Locks — Secured gates shall be equipped with a fire key switch if the <br /> gate(s)is/are automated. If the gate(s) is/are manually operated,a chain and lock that can be easily cut will <br /> be allowed. <br /> 3. Fire Lane Dedication—Al fire lanes that have ben designated in the tire storage yard shall remain free and <br /> clear of obstruction. If the fire lanes abut any vertical curbing, those areas shall be painted red. The <br /> Final Approval 07/11/08 <br />
