A.4) IF ISLANDS WILL BE FORMED: use angle stock or other material to hang the UDC from the
metal framing on the long sides. The top of the metal frame should be set 1/4"above the concrete floor
of the island and sloped away when concrete is poured. Secure the UDC at the right elevation and
orientation so it does not move during installation.
A.5) IF NO ISLANDS WILL BE FORMED: the top of the UDC's metal frame should be 1" above the
concrete traffic pad (grade) and sloped away an appropriate distance when concrete is poured.
Secure the UDC at the right elevation and orientation so it does not move during installation.
A.6) Shovel a wide bed of pea-gravel under each UDC to support its weight and help prevent
movement/ shifting during installation of piping and other components.
13) PIPING AND ENTRY FITTINGS
13.11) Determine piping centerlines and mark sump walls for entry fitting locations. Plan your fitting
locations so that the O.D. (outer diameters) of all fittings are 1" away from any edges or comers.
B.2) Install all product entry fittings together with your piping. If using bonded (glued)fiberglass entry
fittings, DO NOT SUBSTITUTE RECOMMENDED ADHESIVES and allow for the full cure time for all
entry fittings. If installing during winter, follow the Winter Warning guidelines included in the fitting
installation manuals.
13.3) Install all brackets, shear valves, flex connectors and any other piping cl"INy
E 05 9' 17
C) TESTING FITTING INTEG-R11T-,,Yjz-',-N11:N1T "J"
C.1) This will be a water (lake) test. Sump must be supported from the bottom by pea-gravel.
IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU ALLOWED ALL FRP
ACRITICAL FITTINGS TO PROPERLY AND FULLY CURE AT THE
RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE BEFORE TESTINGL
C.2) Ensure that substantial pea gravel or available site backfill material is under each UDC and
helping to support its weight. Fill the sump with water and monitor for one hour. Inspect all penetration
fittings thoroughly both inside and outside each sump. Follow all local regulations.
IF THE SUMP IS DAMAGED DURING INSTALLATION, CONTACT THE
FACTORY FOR REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS AND MATERIALS.
4 ii-131000-1313
