Run
line or other means of elevation measurement and reference.
r DO NOT PLACE SUMPS ON ANY RIGID SURFACE DURING
LEVELING INSTALLATION OR CONCRETE POURING.
IF NOT CUTTING DOWN HEIGHT IN THE FIELD: SKIP TO STEP A.4
IF YOU WILL NEED TO CUT DOWN SUMP HEIGHT: PROCEED TO STEP A.2
A.2) You may need to adjust the sump's overall height before hanging and/or securing it for
entry fitting installation and piping. The B-1000 series features graduation marks on both ends and
a label indicating inches of height. Use this guide to help quickly determine how tall each sump needs
to be. Similarly to a polyethylene UDC, you must cut-down the neck to change the height of the sump.
The Anchor Frame hangs on hooks from the top edge of the UDC. BE CAREFUL not to cut the neck
down so much that the frame can not hang from the top cut edge. When you have determined how
much you need to cut from each sump, if at all, proceed to cut them square across the top.
A.3) SKIP THIS STEP IF YOU DID NOT CUT THE SUMP's HEIGHT. If the sump was cut down, you
need to remove the C-Channel and anchoring bars on the sides of the UDC. You can not leave the
bracketing in place where it was originally installed. After the top edge is cut square, simply set the
steel frame over the neck, level it and make sure all the hanging hooks are in contact(Fig.A.3a). Using
the holes in this frame as a template, drill new holes through the neck of the sump on both sides. When
all holes have been drilled, install each C-channel bar through the inside holes and fasten on the
outside (Fig. A.3b).
OPTIONAL: Sealing the Anchor Bars. You can seal the bars and bolts to the sump wall with
a sealant (Fig. A.3b). Tremco brand Vulkem 116 (polyurethane sealant) is factory recommended.
• Fig. A.3b
SUMP NECK > < FRAME
Pw
NUT
OPTIONAL
SEALANT
HANGING HERE
HOOKS " EXTERIOR
3 ii-131000-1313
