2 GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br />' On behalf of PSC, Kleinfelder performed quarterly groundwater-monitoring on May <br /> 12, 2005 The data are presented in the following sections Summary tables for <br /> groundwater elevations and analytical results are included in Tables 1 through 4 Site <br /> maps for groundwater elevations and analytical results are )included in Figures 1 <br /> through 4 Field data sheets are included in Appendix A Laboratory analytical <br /> reports are included in Appendix B <br /> 2.1 Groundwater Monitoring Procedures <br /> Groundwater elevations were obtained from four monitoring wells, MW-1 <br /> through MW-4 Groundwater levels and the potential presence of free phase <br /> gasoline product were measured in each well prior to sampling, utilizing an <br /> electronic oil/water interface probe In addition, prior to purging the wells, <br />' the first bailer of purge water was visually checked for evidence of free <br /> product <br />' Groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis from the <br /> following wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 _ <br /> Prior to sampling and if possible, the wells were purged a minimum of three <br /> well-casing volumes with a dedicated bailer in order to collect a representative <br /> sample Water quality parameters of the purged water (pH, conductivity, <br />' temperature, and the visual observation of water clarity) were measured, <br /> utilizing field instruments The purged water was stored in 55-gallon drums, <br /> and the drums were transported to PSC's licensed California waste disposal <br />' facility <br /> Upon purging the appropriate volume of groundwater, sample aliquots were <br />' retrieved and placed in laboratory provided containers The containers were <br /> labeled, stored on ice in a cooler, and transported under chain-of-custody to <br /> STL a Cali form a-certifi ed laboratory located in Pleasanton, California <br /> Groundwater samples were analyzed for BTEX by EPA Method 8021, TPH-G <br /> by EPA Method 8015, and the oxygenate analytes (TBA, MTBE, DIPE, <br /> ETBE, and TAME)by EPA Method 8260B <br /> 2.2 Groundwater Elevation Measurements <br /> Free product was not observed in the wells, based on the measurements <br /> obtained utilizing the oil/water interface probe and the visual observations <br /> • <br /> 6 <br /> Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> May 2005 <br />' Prepared for SARA LEE BAKERY GROUP,INC Prepared by Philip Services Corporation <br /> Investigative and Quarterly RcportUnd Quarterly Report 05-2005(final) September 23,2005 <br />
