PEG makes no attempt to locate any underground <br /> tilities that could interfere, and present potentiial.hazards during the borehole drilling and <br /> ell installation. This needs to be corrected, and they can use the GPR in item. 1 above to <br /> ssist in this effort as well as to contact Underground Service Alert to ensure that the <br /> borings will. not interfere, damage or pose a risk to property and personnel at or near the <br /> Fropcny- <br /> J. <br /> Inctallatidn/Ownership of Wells. UNOCAL,shall secure all necessary permits for the <br /> tallation of the wells to be installed on the property. The well heads must be subsurface, <br /> t lat is, no well head shall be allowed to extend above ground surface. The well head most <br /> e secured by a concrete, waffic-rated "Christy-box" with a locking well head cap. "The <br /> Christy latx must be mounted flush to the asphalt paving or slightly above to prevent rain <br /> ffifiltration, The Christy box must be grouted to eliminate any tripping hazards. UNOCAL <br /> shall own the wells, and be responsible for their abandonment and closure according to <br /> r gulatory requirements. Documentation of well installation, ownership, and closure mast <br /> e provided to SJCEHD and WFB. <br /> Disposal of Spoils. UNOCAL shall be the waste generator of all spoils, (soil, <br /> I <br /> oundwater;and any other waste)generated during the investigations and remediation. All <br /> s its shall he properly stored., containerized and protected while on the property, and <br /> isposed Or recycled in accordance with prevailing federal,state, and local laws, regulations, <br /> rdinances or codes. UNOCAL must provide SJCEHD and WFB documentation to <br /> monstraate compliance with this requirement. <br /> Security, UNOCAL.must provide necessary security including;but not limited to fencing <br /> d personnel to ensure that any activities within the boundaries of the work area are <br /> secured, .No tmauthorited personnel are allowed to enter into the fenced and restricted <br /> area. <br /> i <br /> $ Health & Safety. UNOCAL,and UNOCAL's consultants and contractors shall be fully <br /> responsible to take all necessary measures and to implement all necessary procedures to � <br /> ensure the health&. safcty of any personnel at or adjacent to the property. UNOCAL shall <br /> also be responsible for the health & safety of their consultants and contractors as well. i <br /> 9 Report. The report shall identify the applicable environmental protection standards and <br /> rationale for their selection. 'ne report shall define the extent of the contamination, <br /> scribe water and soil quality, and assess the soil and water quality to the environmental <br /> otecytion standards. The report shall also provide a conclusion regarding the source of any <br /> c antamination. Finally, the report should, indicate recornmendationz for additio-nal work <br /> th supporting rationale. <br /> must be provided clean and clear copies (not fakes) of the draft and final reports <br /> associated with PIRG's investigation, The reports shall be submitted to WFB to coincide <br /> with the dates submitted to other key personnel (e-g-, UNOCAL and SJCEHD)- <br /> -3- <br /> 1 <br />
