In this instance, the discharge was gasoline during
product delivery to an ARCO station located at 130 S. Wilson Way.
This discharge occurred on January 17, 2001. The City responded by placing several plugs in
the storm drain lines to try to minimize the impact of the discharge. Clean up efforts conducted
by your company commenced on January 17d' and continued through January 18"'. Samples
will be taken from the storm drain system today to determine if your cleanup efforts were
successful. The results of this testing should be forwarded to the City as soon as possible. If
the results of the testing show the presence of gasoline, your cleanup efforts must continue.
In addition to the cleanup costs, it should be noted that your company will be billed for the costs
incurred by the City responding to this illicit discharge. If you have any questions regarding
this matter,please contact Diane Hinson at(209) 937-8758.
MORRIS L. ALLEN
DIRECTOR OF MUNICIPAL UTILITIES
MLA:RKM:sa
cc: Lt.
