Pick-up of used oil is performed by a
licensed waste hauler. Transfer activities are attended by trained Valley Pacific personnel.
Procedures and practices when transferring oil/petroleum products includes:
• Training for oil product delivery is to include instructions on avoiding damage of oil-containing
AST pipes and appurtenances.
• Oil product transfer operations are to be performed over an impervious surface where feasible.
• Prior to oil product transfer operations, the tanker truck brake is to be set and wheel chocks
installed.
• The fitting and product transfer hose are to be visually checked for defects and replaced if
necessary.
• Drip pans/buckets are to be utilized under valve hose connections.
• Hose ends for ASTs are valved to limit spillage.
• Valley Pacific personnel are to be present during product transfer to monitor tank fill level.
o Tank Fill Operations: Tanks Tl, T2, and T3 are equipped with liquid level gauges with
integrated overfill alarms. An audible overfill warning alert will sound when the tanks are filled
to 90-percent capacity or more. For tanks that are not equipped with level gauges (T4),Valley
Pacific delivery drivers manually measure(stick)the tank's liquid level and compare with tank-
specific fill charts to establish adequate tank capacityto receive the load before adding product.
o Truck Fill Operations: An optic rack monitor system is used for transfers from T 1 or T4 into
tank trucks. When the system is connected to the truck and the truck's sensors report reaching
a set cutoff volume, the truck fill pump is automatically shut off to prevent overflow.
A
ti1 CONDOR
