»» Dana,
»»Thank you for taking the time to take a look at these reports. I spoke with you at the CUPA conference. I really
enjoyed the class and hopefully there will be more like it in the future.
»»Some of these reports were received after performing an APSA inspection and noticing that the 20 year formal
inspections had not been conducted as called out in the SPCC plan. The file labeled "TT Lodi" and "Completed tank
inspection checklist" were received as the SP-001 inspection. After talking to the certified inspector and informing him
that the reports did not meet the requirements the standard has for formal inspection reports, I was sent the "STI TT
2019" report.
»» During the conversation it was mentioned by him that the tanks lacked ladders. This came about because he was
asked why the metal thickness testing was not performed on the roof, as called for by the standard for vertical tanks. He
also stated that the tank may be considered unfit for continued service based on his observations, there is no mention of
this on the report. I am assuming that the vents are also on the roof of the tank and wondering how they were
inspected as reflected on the monthly inspection checklist. One of the tanks is listed as UL 923825, which I have not
been able to locate that construction standard.
»»Your input on this is greatly appreciated. Let me know if there are any questions.
»»The certified inspector is
»»Gary Reeves
»»STI 513-001 #11111
»» (209) 661-6611
»» FREE classes presented by NES Inc. are available to all San Joaquin County Hazardous Waste, Underground Storage
Tank, and Aboveground Petroleum Storage Facility Business Owners and Operators.
