I decided to respond by email as my question is perhaps a bit convoluted.
There are two multi-chambered wells at this site made of CMT tubing, MW-18-80/MW-18-120 and MW-11-
80/MW-11-122. Last quarter the depth to water measurements in the MW-11 wells were off approximately 5-6
feet from all other DTW's in wells with similar screen intervals. Yesterday at the 4th quarter QM I spoke with the
Blaine-Tech guys about how they measure, etc. Yesterday the DTW's in the MW-11 wells were not off from the
rest of the wells, so no telling what happened last quarter.
My question is this: The CMT tubing has seven channels inside of it, each of which can be used as a well. I
seem to recall that when those wells were installed I was told that each depth interval actually had three channels
of the tubing drilled, plugged and screened for use as a well, ie: three 80-foot wells and three 120-foot wells. The
idea behind this was to have one channel open to tag DTW, one channel to keep the dedicated tubing that is
used for purging in, and a spare. Do you know of, or can you find any supporting documentation for this?
checked my field notes in the file and I made no notation of it; I checked the well installation report and
boring/well logs and could find nothing there either. It is entirely possible that I am confusing this site with
another, but I have few of these wells. I do know that these wells were pre-built and delivered to the site in a roll
all ready to be installed, so I was thinking that Cambria may have the exact as-built specifications on an order
form or invoice, perhaps?
The Blaine-Tech guys were not aware of this, they pull the dedicated tubing out of each well, wait for the water to
equilibrate, then tag the depths. I doubt that this had anything to do with the anomalous DTW readings from last
10/31/2006
