Fox(916)928-3341 <br />.1 <br /> February 13, 1997 <br /> Project 20805-146 09 <br /> Mr Bruce Tutor <br /> San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District <br /> 4230 Kiernan Avenue, Suite r# 130 <br /> Modesto, California 95356 <br /> Re Source Test Results for the Soil Vapor Extraction and Abatement System for ARCO <br /> Service Station No. 2168, Located at 441 West Charter Way, Stockton, California <br /> (ATC No N3664-1-0) <br /> Dear Mr Tutor- <br /> On behalf of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), EMCON has prepared this report <br /> regarding the source test results for' the soil vapor extraction and treatment system <br /> (SVETS) installed at the ARCO Service Station No. 2168, located at 441 West Charter <br /> Way, Stockton, California (see Figure 1) The remediation system consists of a King Buck <br /> and Associates, Model MMC5A, 100-cubic-foot-per-minute (cfm) electrical catalytic <br />. oxidizer The remediation system is connected to nine vapor extraction wells, VW-4 and <br /> VW-5, and VW-7 through Vey-13 (see Figure 2) <br /> The King Buck and Associates, Model MMC5A, catalytic oxidizer incorporates a <br /> 7 5-horsepower vacuum blov.er to extract petroleum hydrocarbon-laden sail vapors The <br /> 100-cfm electrical catalytic oxidizer is used to abate the extracted soil vapors prior to <br /> discharge to the atmosphere Electricity is used as supplemental fuel to maintain the proper <br /> oxidizer temperature (600-700°F) The stack dimensions are as reported in the Authority to <br /> Construct (ATC) application-2 inches in diameter, 15 feet high The catalytic oxidizer is <br /> also equipped with a heat exchanger that reduces the electricity consumption of the unit and <br /> lowers the exhaust temperature range from 800°to 1000°F to 45W to 500°F <br /> , , s <br /> EMCON conducted the source test on January 24, 1997, consistent with the requirements <br /> identified in the conditions listed ui the ATC (see Appendix A). Samples were collected <br /> from both influent and effluent sample ports dunng the source test.
