Stantec .
Progress Report- October ANovember 2012
Stockton Charter Way Commingled Plume No. CP0057
December 19, 2012
• During trenching activities, damaged two electrical conduits to facility light poles. Stopped
work, assessed damage, initiated Chevron and Stantec incident reporting processes,
repaired conduits, and resumed site work
Activities Completed and Planned for December 2012
• Completed additional private utility surveys
• Completed soil excavation for the new trash enclosure footing
• Completed trench excavation for the underground PG&E gas lateral pipeline
• Received PG&E inspector approval for the bell hole trench excavation and gas lateral
pipeline installation
• PG&E completed connection of underground gas lateral pipeline to gas main pipeline
• Installed rebar and poured trash enclosure footing and received inspection approval from
the City of Stockton
• Initiated installation of underground AS and SVE piping
• Continuing trenching activities
• Before implementing the project holiday hiatus on December 21", will have completed
approximately 60% of the project trenching, piping, backfilling, and pavement restoration
activities
The construction project has incurred some delays due to weather, damage to underground utilities,
and the need to hand-dig (for safety) significantly more of the trenching than originally planned.
The construction project was completely shut down due to rain during many days and significant
time was spent pumping out water accumulated in trench excavations (even though trench
excavations were plated and cold patched). Based on the progress achieved to date, system
installation is estimated to be completed on February 1, 2013. After system installation, PG&E
must connect electric and gas services before startup of the SVE/AS system. Also, the SJVAPCD
will need to oversee the SVE system source testing, and Stantec must obtain lab results to
generate the system startup report. In consideration of the above, Stantec requests an extension
for the remediation system startup from January 30, 2013, to March 15, 2013.
2
