One groundwater sample will be collected from each <br />of the six borings in the first encountered water -bearing zone. Additional deeper <br />groundwater samples may be collected based on soil stratigraphy identified from <br />the logs. Groundwater samples will be analyzed for total petroleum <br />hydrocarbons as gasoline ('IPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes <br />(BTEX), and the fuel oxygenates methyl tertiary butyl ether (MtBE), di - <br />isopropyl ether (RIPE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethyl tertiary butyl <br />ether (EtBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), ethyl dibromide (EDB), 1,2 <br />dichloroethane (1,2 -DCA), ethanol, and methanol. Proposed field and <br />laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment A. <br />SECOR and Chevron look forward to receiving approval from SJCEHD for the <br />activities described in this and previous documents so that further site assessment <br />activities can commence as soon as possible.
