(Shaw) has
prepared this letter to request permission for access to your property to install and
maintain one groundwater monitoring well in the parking area of 519 West Charter Way
(APN 147-074-09), Stockton, California.
The Don Rodgers Transmission Shop has been directed by the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD)to delineate impacted groundwater from
former leaking underground storage tanks at 515 West Charter Way (adjacent property).
During the previous investigation in this area, impacted groundwater was identified and
Don Rodgers Transmission Shop has been directed to install additional monitoring
wells. Copies of the SJCEHD letters have been attached for your review.
The groundwater monitoring well will be installed using a hollow stem auger drill rig at
the proposed location shown on the attached Figure 1. The well will be completed with
a flush mounted, traffic-rated steel box. A photo showing an example of what the well
surface will look like following completion has been included. Well installation and
resurfacing will be completed in approximately one day. Following groundwater
monitoring well installation, the parking area will be returned to a fully accessible state.
Shaw would coordinate scheduling the proposed work with you so that it will not impact
your current business activities. Once the groundwater monitoring well has been as part
of the groundwater monitoring program. You would be contacted during normal
business hours at least five working days prior to each monitoring event.
N:\rancfpl\Projects\Projects\880\039\lA\Nov02 access letter.doc
