Lincoln and Charter Way
Page 2
* The initiation of the site investigations/remediation well installations at 1444 S. Lincoln
and 515 W. Charter Way properties.
* The demolition of the ARCO station at 441 W. Charter Way and the subsequent
removal of.impacted soil at this site. Analytical data gathered during this work will
provide a better understanding of the degree of impact the soil problem may have had
on the overall groundwater plume.
* The start up of the remediation system at 440 W. Charter Way. The data to be
obtained from the operation of the remedial system at this site will provide a benefit to
all parties.
* The elevation of the wells at the Chevron station at 508 W. Charter Way will be tied
into the other wells in the vicinity. In addition, all parties will use a scale of one inch to
60 feet (1" to 60') in subsequent reports. This will allow for better graphic
presentations of the groundwater problem in the area.
Overall Goal
* To effectively reduce the contaminants in groundwater in the vicinity to levels that are
protective of beneficial uses. It is anticipated that this effort should take no longer than
three to five years after comprehensive remediation is initiated in the area.
The meeting was a positive, cooperative approach to addressing the considerable groundwater
contaminant plume identified in the area. The success of the meeting will be measured by the
progress made before the next meeting, which is scheduled to be held at this office, on Tuesday, April
30, 1996 at 10:OOa.m.
If you disagree with this summary or have any questions, please contact me at (209) 468-3452.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Diane M.
