I can not predict how long the process
will take.
Shell Oil Products US is currently paying for the clean up of the property; however, any one who owns the
property is considered a responsible party. If the current owner wants to redevelop the site to other than the site
current use, the EHD may reopen the case.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-9852
Email: vmccartneyCaD-sjcehd.com
- r
i
From: baterw@wellsfargo.com [mailto:baterw@wellsfargo.com]
Sent: Tuesday, December 10, 2013 10:13 AM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]; rob.gildea@wellsfargo.com
Subject: LUST Case #1058124 - 620 West Charter Way, Stockton
Ms. McCartney,
I understand you are the county case worker for this property. I work for Wells Fargo Bank providing
environmental risk management for commercial loans. The current owner of this property has
approached WFB about financing this property. Our due diligence has indicated there is on-going site
cleanup to which Shell is the responsible party. Before WFB can get comfortable with the situation I am
seeking clarification on two matters. First, I see that the.site is eligible for case closure as of 9/24/13 and
that you issued a letter dated 12/2/13 which I was not able to open on the GeoTracker site. That being
said I was attempting to find out the anticipated closure date and what requirements the County and/or
RWQCB may still request as part of closure?Secondly, as I understand it our customer has owned the
business and real estate since approximately 2007.That being said I am seeking to find out the potential
liability and exposure to our customer regarding the existing case. I have left you a voice message as well
12/12/2013
