Vicki McCartney tEH]
From: Vicki McCartney.[EH]
Sent: Friday, November 22, 2013 10:00 AM
To: 'Barton, Jim@Waterboards'.
Subject: RE: Waste oil data for 620 Charter Way in Stockton
Attachments: Waste oil tank information 620 Charter Way.pdf
Good morning Jim,
The letter dated 28 May 1987 from Shell that was received'at the Environmental Health Department on 01 June
1987 must have been related to testing the new USTs. The laboratory that did the analyses on the USTs was
Hunter Environmental Services. I do not have the analytical data from testing the USTs.
The soil sample that was collected on June 24, 1987 at 11 feet below surface grade at the center of the pit for the
waste oil tank was analyzed by Eureka Laboratories Inc. The data that I sent to you is for that waste oil tank.
I don't believe that soil samples were collected from the new waste oil tank location before removing the old waste
oil tank. I am attaching the chain-of-custody for the waste oil tank that was removed on June 24, 1987.
i
The reason that you do not see UST-3 on the November 1989 report is because UST-3 was the waste oil tank
removed on June 24, 1987. UST-5 represented the second waste oil tank. Please seethe attachment.
I hope that I have clarified any questions that you may have concerning the two waste oil tanks that were
removed from the Shell station at 620 Charter Way in Stockton. Please let me know if you need any additional
information.
ThankY ou Jim.
I
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health:Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-9852
Email: vmccartney(cDsicehd.com
From: Barton, Jim@Waterboards [mailto:jim.barton@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Friday, November 22, 2013 6:50 AM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Cc: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: Waste oil data for 620 Charter Way in Stockton
Hi Vicki,
Thanks for digging this up (no pun intended). I'm confused by the Shell cover letter dated May 28, 1987,
which states the Eureka Labs soil data was for the new 550-gallon ...tanks (plural). Could this be a typo
(new 550-gallon waste oil tank)?.
I
11/22/2013 j
