Mr. Swaran Chouhan
701 E. Charter Way, Stockton
extraction (GWE) and soil vapor extraction (SVE) for interim remediation of your
site. The EHD approves this recommendation. Include in this work plan a
discussion comparing the cost effectiveness of GWE and SVE with other
potential applicable remedial technologies. Submit the work plan to the EHD by
15 August 2007.
Many quarterly reports, including Quarterly Report — First Quarter 2007, dated
30 April 2007, include the recommendation to "Complete the installation of the
off-site monitoring wells, pending resolution of City of Stockton permitting
(issuance of bonds); to date, AGE has installed four of the eight monitoring wells
proposed in the AGE-prepared Additional Monitoring Wells Work Plan, dated 26
July 2002. You are directed to complete this scope of work as soon as possible.
In all future quarterly reports include updates on specific issues delaying
completion of this scope of work and the specific actions taken on your behalf to
address those impediments.
The EHD notes that the EHD letter of 14 March 2007 erroneously indicated that
the site west of your has little potential to impact your site as the former site is
cross- to down-gradient of your site. The statement actually applies to the site
east of yours; the site toward the west potentially could impact your site. The
EHD regrets the misstatement.
Questions or comments may be directed to Nuel Henderson by mail (address on
letter head) or by telephone at (209) 468-3436.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Nuel C. Henderson, Jr., PG Margare Lagorio, REHS
Engineering Geologist, Unit IV Supervisor, Unit IV
cc: James L.L. Barton, PG - CRWQCB
Dr. Calvin Lee, PG —AGE
Mark Owens — State Cleanup Fund
