Submit a revised work plan for the soil gas survey proposed by CGG with depths
of investigation appropriate to identify a release from the current UST system by
10 May 2004;
3. Submit a revised 4t' quarter 2004 ground water monitoring report by 10 May
2004 that accurately describes the monitoring methods utilized for that event;
4. Notify EHD at least 48 hours prior to conducting any sampling event related to
the investigation and characterization of the unauthorized release associated
with this investigation — this specifically includes ground water monitoring events;
5 . Reinitiate analysis for 1 ,2-DCA and EDB in all samples collected from this site
until directed otherwise by EHD; and
6 . Submit a work plan to EHD by 24 May 2004 to complete the vertical and lateral
assessment of soil and ground water impacted by the unauthorized release
associated with this investigation . Please include advancing confirmation borings
to assess the effects of the SVE remediation and sampling vapor recovered from
each individual vapor extraction well .
For your information , the investigation of the 701 Charter Way site continues. Recently,
multilevel ground water monitoring wells as deep as 150 feet have been installed on the
site; additional deep wells off-site are planned , including one on the Sun's Garden
Restaurant property. Field indications of contamination were noted to great depth ,
although laboratory data is not yet available. Each new well was designed to monitor
four sand intervals . The new wells have not yet been sampled . In addition , the ground
water flow direction determined on this site has generally been toward the south; during
the July 2003 monitoring event, the flow direction was determined to be toward the
northeast. The fourth quarter monitoring report has not yet been received in this office.
If there is any confusion on any of these issues , please call the undersigned for
clarification . EHD desires to assist you and/or your consultant in this matter as much as
possible .
