(AEI ), represented by Drew Van Allen and Dan
Lafontaine to review the site status and address unresolved issues related to the
unauthorized release from the underground storage tank system (UST) formerly
in use on your site. A direct representative of your company was not present.
At the meeting it was generally agreed that:
• Proposed and approved monitoring well MW- 15, for which you have not
been able to obtain an access agreement from Pep Boys , should instead
be located in the City right-of-way, on the sidewalk, near the northeast
corner of Charter Way and Grant Street;
• An additional well or wells may be proposed between BM-6 and the
contaminant source area on the 701 E . Charter Way site to test the model
suggested by your former consultant Lee and Pierce , Inc. ;
• The recently acquired soil vapor extraction (SVE) test data should be
analyzed and evaluated to propose either additional use of SVE on
impacted soil on your site or dismantling and removing the SVE system ;
• An estimate of the contaminant mass in soil and in groundwater should be
prepared and submitted to the EHD . If additional or updated data is
needed to prepare such an estimate , a work plan should be submitted to
the EHD for soil borings on your site ;
• AEI should critically review the existing site conceptual model (SCM ) and
prepare their own SCM if necessary, to identify additional data needs , if
any;
Meeting Summary and Directive Letter 0308. doc
