J
'I
In July 1999, we drilled an additional monitoring well MW-12 to 80 feet, This was reported in our
report dated August 5, 1999.
Introduction
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has approved the drilling of
monitoring wells MW-14 , MW-15 and MW-16 in their letter dated March 7 , 2005.
This work plan will define the drilling of boring B-4 drilled in the old tank pit area to assess the
amount of contamination that exists in this area and how deep it extends. We have found that the
cost of having a mobile lab on site is more expensive than drilling , sampling and sending the
samples to an analytical laboratory facility for testing .
WORK PROPOSAL
One boring (B-4) will be place on the southwest side of the stations property in the
position of the old tanks . It will be drilled by a cone penetration testing (CPT) rig to a
depth of 160 feet bgs . Soil analyses will be performed through the log supplied by the
driller. Soil samples will not be obtained from the vadose zone , since they were obtained
in boring B- 1 .
Water samples will be taken every 10 feet starting at 60 feet bgs to the depth of the
boring . These samples will be placed in the voa's supplied by the laboratory. This boring
will be drilled by Gregg Drilling & Testing , Inc.
The boring will be backfilled with hydrated cement to the surface and capped with asphalt.
LABORATORY TESTING
The following tests will be performed on the soil and groundwater samples by Sherwood and
Castle Analytical Labs. The samples will be placed on ice in a cooler until they are delivered to
the laboratory .
Soil Testing
EPA 8260 for MtBE , TAME , ETBE, DIPE and TBA 10 and 800 ug/Kg
BTEX and TPH EPA 8020 and 8015 3 and 50 ug/Kg
Water Testin
EPA 8260 for TAME , ETBE , DIPE , TBA, 12-DCA AND EDB 0 . 15 and 20 ug/L
EPA 602 and 8015 for BTEX and TPH 0 . 3 and 50 ug/L
