d
A discrete soil sample will be taken between 132 Feet and 135 feet. This sample will
be taken to confirm the CPT findings and further evaluate any presence of
contaminates at this level .
The drilling tasks will be performed with a hollow stem auger by Spectrum Drilling of
Stockton , Ca . . The wells will be drilled with a 8- inch hollow stem auger and PVC
cased to a completed depth of 180 feet below the surface (bgs) . Soil samples will be
taken every 5 feet with a split spoon — driven core sample unit during the drilling
operations and analyzed with an OVA meter. Predetermined soil and water samples
will be collected from 40, 70, 85, 120, 132 , 156, 165, 170 , 175 and 180 feet. Each
sample collected will be sealed on-site, placed in a ice chest with ice and preserved for
transportation to Argon Laboratories in Ceres, Ca . for analytical testing as outlined in
the Laboratory testing of this work plan . In the process of the field screening , any
other soil samples not listed in the predefined sample points , test positive during the
OVA screening in the field they also will be submitted for the same analyses.
The monitoring well(s) will be built by placing a section of 0 . 020 slotted PVC casing into
the bottom 10 feet of the boring. Then 10 foot threaded sections of Schedule 40 PVC
blank well casing will be threaded together from 170 feet to the surface. Number 3
sand pack will be placed opposite the slotted casing and 5 feet above it and slowly
surged and consolidated prior to placing the transition seal until the sand pack has
stabilized at 5 feet above the top of well screen . A transitional seal will be placed from
160 to 165 feet which will consist of hydrated bentonite chips. From 160 feet to the
surface the casing annulus will be filled with hydrated cement. To finish the installation ,
a traffic rated monitoring well box will be cemented into placed at surface level and the
new monitoring well will be capped with a locking cap and lock.
SOIL DISPOSAL
All soil cuttings and construction materials will be stored on site either in 55- gallon steel
drums or on 6= mil poly plastic. Dependent upon soil analysis the final determination for
waste disposal will be determined . All waste will be disposed of in a licensed facility
that is permitted for the waste stream .
WELL DEVELOPMENT
No sooner than 48 hours later, each monitoring well will be surged and developed to
remove any well construction material(s) and to establish a path of recharge for the
future monitoring events to take place on these wells. A minimum of 10 casing
volumes will be purge or until the discharge water is flowing relatively clear. All purge
water will be stored in a poly 60- gallon drum and stored on sight for future disposal .
These two wells will be surveyed after they are developed .
