{
Morita Brothers
814 E. Charter Way, Stockton
i Page 3 of 3
4
may have been immediately overlying the 70- to 80-forot sand. EHD recommends that
wells screened in the C interval sand zone be installed near MW-2, MW-5 and MW-6 to F
initially assess the interval. If field indications or laboratory results indicate the presence
of dissolved hydrocarbons in the C interval, the screen intervals of proposed monitoring
wells MW-208, MW-209 and MW-210 should be modifiied to address the 70 to 80-foot i
sand interval and the wells should be installed in the same locations utilized for the new
B interval wells. If ground water in the C interval sand is not impacted in the suspected
4 source area, then the proposed outboard deeper wells will not be required.
The work plan stipulates that no soil samples will be collected for laboratory analysis
during installation of the ground water monitoring wells;'i EHD recommends that any soil
samples collected in new areas that yield any field indications of hydrocarbon
contamination be submitted for laboratory analysis as !;needed to properly assess the I
extent and magnitude of such impacted soil.
` If you agree with the recommendations above, ple ease submit a brief work plan
addendum noting the changes. If you disagree with any of the recommendations, please
' provide justifications for such specific elements of the original work plan as submitted.
Please provide your response to EHD by 26 September" 2002. Questions or comments
may be directed to the undersigned by mail (address on letter head), by e-mail at
nhenderson(a)sicehd.com, or by telephone at (209) 468-3436. {
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Nuel C.
