Charter Way, Stockton, CA
County Site Code: 1061; USTCFP Claim #6793
Dear Ms. Sanborn:
In a letter from San Joaquin County, dated May 3, 2000, M:1 s. Carol Oz requested that additional
monitoring wells be installed to define the vertical and lateral extent of soil and groundwater
contamination at the site, located at Morita Brothers, 814 E. Charter Way, Stockton, California.
To accomplish this directive,,Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) prepared a work plan dated July 7,
I 2000 with subsequent addenda regarding well placement and design issues. Ms. Oz approved
the work plan on August 8, 2000 and the wells were subsequently installed on November 20-
22, 2000.
At this time there are approximately twenty (20) 55-gallon drums of soil (drill cuttings) and
seven (7) 55-gallon drums of well purge water. The work proposed here is just the arranging,
coordinating, supervision and disposal of these drums of soil and water.
Copies of the work plan and addendum's to the Work Plan, SJC PHS/EHD correspondence,
disposal bids and an itemized budget spreadsheet of costs ,for performing this work is enclosed
forY our review,
Proposed Bidding of Project
To remain in compliance with the USTCFP, Geological Technics Inc. requested bids from Del-
Tech and NOR CAL OIL to dispose of the soil and water, respectively.
These costs have been included in the attached opinion of cost spreadsheet prepared giving
estimated costs for performing the work approved by SJC -PHS/EHD. The opinion of cost
spreadsheet shows itemized cost for the tasks proposed'! In an attempt to make this Pre-
Approval flow smoothly, GTI has used the same unit costs for this work that has previously
been approved by the USTCFP for other projects.
Geological Technics Inc. accepts field support services 'and lab invoices and adds a 15%
overhead fee. GTI then pays these charges.
i
