(AGE) <br /> has prepared the following estimated costs for remediation of the hydrocarbon-impacted "core" area <br /> (core- area) at 1045 West Charter Way in Stockton, California. Upon your review, please transmit <br /> a copy of this estimate to Mr. \tichael Infurna of the PHS-EHD . <br /> The cost comparison includes: 1 ) excavation of the core area of hydrocarbon-imp acted soil at the site; <br /> and 2) soil vapor extraation/in-situ air sparging (SVT/IAS) of the core area. For purposes of this cost <br /> estimate, the core area will be defined as the area bound by wells MW- 1 through 1\4WAI Based on <br /> this, the core area can be depicted on a site plan as having approximate dimensions 100 feet by 100 <br /> feet (Figure I - Extent of Pen-oleunt Hydrocarbon-Impacted Core Area) . <br /> Based upon the approximate dimensions of the core area, we present the following estimated <br /> remediation costs : <br /> E CAirATION <br /> i <br /> • Most of the hydrocarbon-impacted soil at the site is present between depths of 15 and 40 feet. <br /> Therefore, the total volume of impacted soil within the core area is approximately 9, 259 cubic <br /> yards ( 100 feet [length] by 100 feet [width] by 25 feet [thickness]) .
