Charter Way SITE CODE : 1779124
Stockton , Ca .
This letter is being sent to summarize the issues that were
discussed at the informal meeting between San Joaquin County
Public Health Services , Environmental Health Division ( PHS / EHD )
staff and you on January 27 , 1993 .
The prioritization of assessment and remediation alternatives as
a means to maximize the progress at this site with a limited
amount of resources was discussed at the meeting . The continued
removal of the free product and the subsequent removal of
dissolved hydrocarbons from the groundwater by groundwater
extraction were discussed as priority issues . This work would be
initiated in the near future with the installation of a
groundwater extraction well and would occur during the process of
determining the full extent of the soil and groundwater
contaminant plumes at the site .
In addition , if soil vapor extraction is determined to be
feasible for this site , interim soil remediation may also become
an option .
As additional information on the full extent of the soil and
groundwater plumes becomes available , modifications to the
remediation system may need to be made to effectively encompass
the entire soil and groundwater plumes . The initiation of
interim soil and groundwater remediation while continuing to
determine the full extent of the contaminant plumes allows for a
timely initiation of the cleanup of the groundwater and the soil
at the site .
In addition , PHS / EHD has considered the request for a possible
reduction in the sampling frequency of the wells at this site and
has determined the following :
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Semces 10
