It was our
understanding that the decisions on where to sample and what to analyze for
had been made by the insurance carrier. As relayed to us, the sampling was
directed to be done in those two areas where a new tank farm and a new
dispenser island were being proposed.
EXECUTION OF TRE WORK
Personnel from our office arrived at the subject site to conduct the
requested sampling on October 14, 1988. Excavation for the purpose of
sampling has undertaken in the two areas on the site which had been
identified as being of particular interest.
Samples #1 and #2 were taken from the bottom of 14.0' deep exploration pits
excavated in opposite corners of the proposed tank farm.
Samples 1,13 through #9 were taken from an excavation adjacent to th? proposed
dispenser pump island. This excavation was extended to 20' below grade, with
samples taken at 3' intervals.
The location of individual sampling points is shown on thy. diagram on page
r three. Additional information on the exact-method of sample collection will
be found in the SAMPLING METHODOLOGY section of this report.
After completion of the field work, the sample containers were delivered to
Anametrix, Inc. in San Jose, California. Anametrix, Inc. is a California
Department of Health Services certified Hazardous Materials Testing
Laboratory and is listed as DOHS HMTL 0151.
F .
Sampling Report 88288-C-1 VAN DE POL ENTERPRISES page 2
