PLATE VI shows the approximate lines of equal concentration of TPHg. Results are
summarized below:
MW-1 - Minor change.
MW-2 - Remains below detection limits.
MW-3 - Recorded 52 ug/L, the first time this compound has been detected.
MW-4 - Level decreased from 86 ug/L in November to 3 ug/I, in March.
MW-5 - Not sampled.
MW-6 - Not sampled
MW-7 - Continues to remain below detection limits.
MW-8 - Increased from 71 ug/L to 187 ug/L.
MW-9 - Decreased from 113,000 ug/L to 93,500 ug/L.
PLATE VII shows the estimated limits of TEPH. MW-3 measured 3590 ug/L of TEPH in
the motor oil range, the first time this substance has been detected in this well. The reason
is not known, but the combination of the rise in water level and the location of the well next
to the shop building may be factors. Levels of TEPH as diesel detected in MW4 increased
from 930 ug/L to 2420 ug/L.
. MTBE was detected only in MW-5, and is no longer being included in the analyses for the
wells included in our monitoring program..
Chloronated solvents have been previously identified in MW-4 (methylene chloride,) MW-7
(Trichloroethene,) MW-8 (1,1-Dichloroethene & vinyl chloride,) and MW-9 (1,2-
Dichloroethane.) Those wells were not sampled in March; they will be included in the next
sampling.
TABLE A summarizes the results of the laboratory analyses of water samples taken since
the start of monitoring operations. Siginificant changes in concentrations were discussed
earlier.
DISCUSSION OF RESULTS TO DATE FROM MONITORING WELLS:
The 4 foot rise in the water table since November may be responsible for the detection of
TPHg and motor oil range organics in MW-3, the first time they have been dectected. It
may also account for the increase of diesel range organics in MW-4.
The work performed to date continues to show the existence of two gasoline contaminated
plumes which originate off the property; one at 1045 W. Charter Way (Nomellini,) & one at
1245 W. Charter Way (JM Equipment.) Although data to date is not conclusive, it is
• possible that the two plumes have commingled in the area of the shop building. Those two
2
