Refer to prior reports for details .
REGIONAL GEOLOGIC & GEOMORPHIC PROVINCE :
Refer to prior reports .
DEPTH TO GROUNDWATER:
During excavation work conducted in May, 1993, groundwater was
encountered at about 35 ' bgl . Groundwater was observed entering
the excavation during the work performed in December, 1994 . The
water table was measured at an average depth of 24 . 07 ' bgl during
well development & sampling conducted on July 10, 1995 .
LOCATION OF NEARBY WELLS :
Although there are no monitoring or water wells in the immediate
area under discussion, there are at least 19 groundwater monitor-
ing wells in the area, in addition to the four recently placed on
this property. The owners of the site immediately to the east at
1045 W. Charter Way, (Nomellini Construction Co. , ) have recently
placed at least two (2) additional groundwater monitoring wells
in order to further define an extensive hydrocarbon plume beneath
that site . One of those wells has been placed on the east side
of the Miles & Nolet property; preliminary data indicates minor
amounts of petroleum constituents were measured. We will
endeavor to make an arrangement with the owner of the Nomellini
sit so that we can coordinate our quarterly sampling events to
include the well recently placed on this site .
WORKPLAN FOR FURTHER SOIL & GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION:
The September 13 , 1995 letter from Mr. Joel Weiss of the CRWQCB
was not received in this office until September 27 ; we have yet
to put on the distribution list, and must relay on others to
receive correspondence. Because of the short time frame in which
to prepare a workplan, (required by 10/13/1995, ) we have not had
sufficient time to contact qualified vendors & service companies
to perform the work. We will give more complete details as soon
as we have made those selections and obtained necessary permits,
etc .
1 . Utilizing surface geophysical equipment, (magnetometers,
etc . , ) attempt to locate & identify possible underground storage
tanks, pipelines, etc . as shown by the area outlined on the
attached EXHIBIT A. If the sensitivity of the equipment permits,
we will also investigate the area beneath the shop building.
2
