(Cambfia) prepared this work plan on behalf of <br /> Equilon Enterprises LLC dba Shell Oil Products US (Shell)to propose additional site assessment <br /> activities at the referenced site. Per our telephone conversation on December 9, 2003, San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department EHD) staff agrees further site assessment is <br /> warranted at this site to delineate the vertical and law ral extend of 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA). <br /> The scope of work presented in this work plan is written to comply with EHD and Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB)guidelines. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> Site Description: The subject site is located on the northeast corner of East Charter Way and <br /> Airport Way in a mixed conunercial/residential a a of Stockton, California (Figure 1). The <br /> former site layout included two station buildings, three fuel underground storage tanks (USTs), <br /> and four dispenser islands (Figure 2). The subject site is currently a vacant lot. <br /> UST Removal. On April 29, 1999 three 10,000-gallon single-wall steel gasoline USTs were <br /> removed from the site. The tanks were found to be in good condition with no obvious <br /> indications of failure. Soil samples were collected from the bottom of the UST excavation and <br /> beneath the former fuel dispensers and product piping at locations specified by EHD staff <br /> (Figure 2). A total of 14 soil samples were collected. All of these samples were analyzed for <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes <br /> Cambria (BTEX), and fuel oxygenates (methyl tertiary butyl ether [MTBE], tertiary butyl alcohol [TBA], <br /> Environmental <br /> Technology,Inc. di isopropyl ether [DIPE], ethyl tertiary butyl eth r [ETBE], and tertiary amyl methyl ether <br /> [TAME]. <br /> 270 Perkins Street <br /> r <br /> P.O.Box 259 <br /> Sonoma,CA 95476 ' <br /> Tel(707)935-4850 <br /> Fax(707)935-6649 <br />
