CAMBRlA
Munsell Soil Color Charts. The CPT borings will be continuously logged with CPT electronic
logging equipment.
1
Soil samples will be collected from the well boring at five-foot intervals for soil description and
organic vapor screening with a photo-ionization det ctor (PID). Soil samples will be retained in
stainless steel or brass sample tubes and will be c vered on both ends with Teflon sheets'and
plastic end caps. Soil samples will be labeled, entered onto a chain-of-custody record,-and
placed into a cooler with ice for transport to a State of California certified laboratory for possible 1
analyses. j
The CPT borings will be drilled to a depth of 100 fbg or until drilling refusal, whichever is
encountered first. Groundwater samples will be collected from the CPT borings using CPT
groundwater sampling equipment. Coarse-grained sediment layers will be targeted for
groundwater sampling. If coarse-grained sediments are not encountered we will attempt to
collect groundwater samples at various depths from aach boring.
Monitoring Well Construction: Each well boring u ill be drilled to approximately ten feet below
groundwater. The wells will be competed using two-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC casing.
The well screen interval will be approximately fie feet above and ten feet below the static
groundwater level. The sandpack will be placed along the entire length of the well screen and
two feet above the top of the well screen followed by a two-foot thick bentonite seal and cement
grout to grade. Well screen length and placement inay vary depending on soil types encountered
during field activities. Consideration will be given I o the fact that these wells will be monitoring
1,2-DCA (a compound with a specific gravity grea er than that of water) rather than petroleum
hydrocarbons. The well heads will be secured with a locking cap under a traffic-rated well box.
A licensed surveyor will survey the. wellhead elevations relative to mean sea level and::the
location of each well as per State of California guidelines.
The scope of work described in this work plan w 11 be performed under the supervision of a
registered geologist.
Chemical Analyses: Groundwater samples will be a nalyzed for TPHg,BTEX,MTBE, TBA, and
1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260.
Report Preparation: Following the receipt of analyt cal results from the laboratory, Cambria will
prepare a written report, which will include field procedures, laboratory results, boring logs,
conclusions,and recommendations.
1511 4
