caooos
Maribel Flohrschutz [EH]
From: Maribel Flohrschutz [EH]
Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2019 3:47 PM
To:
Subject: carolinas grill
Today I conducted the complaint inspection for this restaurant. I spoke to the owner who was not aware of any
complaint. I inspected the hand wash station in the kitchen. It was accessible and fully stocked with required supplies.
The red multi use baskets are used for tortillas. They are lined with paper and the tortillas are wrapped with foil. It is ok
to wash them at the end of the day.At time of inspection they were clean. The baskets for the chips are disposable
containers. I asked the owner and the cashier regarding the towels. They use separate towels for the kitchen and the
dining area. I observed that they each had a bucket to store their towels.According to the owner they go thru 200
towels per week(have a laundry service). Gloves are not required by code. The only time they are required is if the
cooks have long nails, are using band aids, have skin sores, or have rings with precious stones. I observed the cashier and
she did handle money and containers/plates with food. As long as she is not touching the food, she does not need to
wash her hands.
Thank you for your concern,
Maribel Flohrschutz, REHS
San Joaquin County EHD
1
