Proposed soil
and groundwater sampling locations are shown with respect to the former tank locations on Plate 2,
Site Plan. Ramcon's Standard Procedures for subsurface investigation work are presented for
reference in the Appendix.
BACKGROUND
In 1987 an approximate 1000-gallon waste oil and a 12,000-gallon diesel tank were removed from
the site. A field sketch noted in the County (SJCEMD) file generally shows the tanks formerly
located as shown on the attached Plate 2. Limited available test data indicate that volatile aromatic,
(BTX)compounds were detected in soil from beneath the south end of the diesel tank, and that low-
level polychlorinated biphenyls were reported in the soil sample from beneath the waste-oil tank.,
The excavations have been backfilled and concrete flatwork is now present at each of the former tank
locations as approximately shown on Plate 2. We understand that no follow-up has been performed
and that the SCEMD has required additional investigation. Our proposed investigation is detailed
below.
Ramco n H:\WPDATA\1070ANDSUnvestigationWP Page I
License No.510034
