MONITORING AND RESPONSE PLAN - SC
ARCO PRODUCTS COMPANY FACILITY WITH
DISPENSER SPILL CONTAINMENT DEVICES
ARCO FACILITY: 595 ADDRESS: 5100 N. Hwy 99
Stockton, CA 95205
This is a monitoring and response plan of action for facilities with spill containment devices installed
beneath the dispensers.
1. CONTAINMENT EQUIPMENT
Secondarily contained storage tanks and lines at this facility are to be monitored by a continuous
electronic leak detection system, which consists of an alarm panel, sensors and associated
electronics. Liquid sensors are installed to monitor the annular space of each double-wall tank
and product line-piping sump, as well as at each one of the dispenser containment sumps.
Whenever a sensor detects presence of liquid, or a change in liquid level at the tank interstitial
sumps, there is both an audible and visual alarm at the control panel. In addition, this
continuous monitor on the piping system will shut down the pump and activate the alarm system
when a release is detected or the continuous product piping monitoring system fails or is
disconnected, the pumping system will shut down.
Electronic automatic leak detectors (3GPH) are installed on the secondarily contained
pressurized product piping as part of the turbine. The line leak detector will detect a loss of
pressure in the product lines and restrict the flow of product.
The model numbers for the associated montioring system are as follows:
Description Model Number
Monitoring Panel Weeder Root TLS 350 Monitoring VR-847090-002
Control Panel
Liquid Sensor for the Tank Annular Space Weeder Root VR-794380-340
Liquid Leak Sensor at Turbine Sump Weeder Root VR-794380-208
Liquid Leak Sensor at Dispenser Containment VR-794380-208
Sumps Weeder Root
1
2!0d OSe-9 tP89 916 '00 s_Lono02id 032AV dVC=80 66-Ci -'ADO
