Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br /> qualifications: <br /> a. Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible <br /> valid, current contractor's licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board <br /> (may be issued to the installation company), or a Tank Tester's license issued to the <br /> individual by the State Water Board, and <br /> b. Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically <br /> present at the work site who possesses a valid, current California UST Service <br /> Technician certificate issued by the International Code Council (ICC), and <br /> c. Possesses a valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the <br /> component(s) being tested, repaired, or serviced. <br /> 5. Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or <br /> work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the <br /> work site who possesses all of the following: <br /> a. A valid, current contractor's license issued by the Contractors State License Board, <br /> and <br /> b. A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International <br /> Code Council (ICC), and <br /> c. A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) <br /> being installed. <br /> 6. Log into the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS), update and submit the <br /> "UST Monitoring Plan" for the supreme and regular for approval. <br /> 7. Log into the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS), complete and submit a <br /> "UST Certification of Installation/Modification" form within 30 days. <br /> 8. All components must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as <br /> required by the organization (UL, ULC, ANSI, API, ASTM, etc.). See California Code of <br /> Regulations (CCR) Title 23, Chapter 16, Table B for a complete list. <br /> 9. Permit expires 180 days from the date of approval.
