Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re: Work Plan and Well Permits <br /> to Abandon Three Monitoring Wells <br /> Zacky Farms Facility <br /> (former Safeway Meat Processing Plant) <br /> 1111 Navy Drive, Stockton, Cal.ifornia <br /> GeoTrans Project No. L573-101 <br /> Dear Mr. Wong: <br /> This letter presents GeoTrans' work plan and permit applications for abandoning <br /> the three remaining groundwater monitoring wells (Wells MW-4, MW-5 and MW- <br /> 6) at the former Safeway Meat Plant located at 1111 Navy Drive, Stockton, <br /> California (the Property). A site location map (Figure 1) and site vicinity map <br /> (Figure 2):are attached.. The completed well destruction permits are attached — <br /> one permit for well MW-6, located in the City right-of-way, and one permit for <br /> wells MW-4 and MW=5. The application fee of$120 (two applications at <br /> $60/each) is also attached. <br /> The Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) have concurred that no <br /> further action is required with respect to the former diesel fuel release at the <br /> Property. The RWQCB issued a No Further Action letter for the Property <br /> January9, 2003. GeoTrans understands the SJCEHD will close the case once <br /> wells MW-4, 'MW-5 and MW-6 are properly abandoned. <br /> GeoTrans' scope of work and schedule for abandoning the three wells is <br /> presented below. Per SJCEHD requirements, the monitoring wells will be drilled <br /> out. <br />
