1
Project A109.04 19 June 1992
wells with 7 out of 10 registering non-detect. The non-detect
concentration at extraction well MW-24 was double-checked by repurging
and re-testing. , MW-24 remained non-detect and the valve was left
closed. The system vacuum declined slightly to 7.7" Hg.
The system remained operating at just over 50 scfm with only 3 wells
(MW-19, MW-20 and MW-34) open to the system. The concentration at
MW-19 finally declined below 1000 ppm, although the system total
influent remained about 800 ppm (15 lbs/day), a level still too high
for cost effective conversion to carbon.
From 16 August 1991 to 6 June 1992, the system operated 236 days
extracting approximately 8,341 pounds (approximately 1,345 gallons) of
hydrocarbons and 23.6 pounds of benzene from the soil .
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
EVAX Technologies, Inc.
Robert A. dunes, REA
Project Manager
Attachments:
1) Site Plan
2) Table I - Extraction Well Summary
3) Table II - Incinerator System and TVH Summary
4) Table III - Benzene Summary
5) Laboratory Reports
- 2 -
