The results are presented in the attached tables
for your review. Also attached are copies of chromatograms of the
influent and effluent air streams and a site plan showing the layout of
the vapor extraction system.
The system operated continuously from the previous monitoring on 25
February to 11 March. The hours of operation have been tracked by both
an hours meter and the continuously recording influent and effluent LEL
monitor.
On 11 March the system and extraction wells were completely monitored.
Hydrocarbon concentrations at the individual wells and the total system
declined significantly from the previous monitoring. Extraction well
MW-2 was closed due to low concentrations. With the closing of MW-2,
only 3 of the system's 10 extraction wells remained open. Extraction
wells MW-20 and MW-28 continued to remain open for migration control .
On 11 March, the system influent total declined to about 1374 ppm even
though ambient dilution was completely closed on that date. With the
complete closure of ambient dilution and only 3 extraction wells open,
the vacuum was raised to nearly 7" Hg; the highest recorded during the
entire program. The hydrocarbon mass removal rate on 11 March was
approximately 24 pounds per day. The influent chromatogram for 11
March again reflects a weathered gasoline distribution with benzene
less than 1 ppm and total xylenes in excess of 350 ppm.
A special site visit was made on 19 March 1992 to open extraction wells
MW-24 and MW-35. These adjustments were made at the request of
