EL DORADO ST., FRENCH CAMP, <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> I reviewed the 1 July 2005 letter Request for Extension (enclosed) from your consultant ATC Associates, <br /> Inc. (ATC) for a Report required by my letter of 11 April 2005. My letter approved the Subsurface <br /> Investigation Workplan (Workplan),which was submitted in response to our 27 July 2004 Order under <br /> Section 13267 of the California Water Code requesting technical reports. The Workplan proposes <br /> installation of four groundwater monitoring wells to delineate lateral plume extent and three <br /> Cone Penetrometer Test (CPT)borings for vertical plume extent. The due date for the Report is <br /> currently 15 July 2005. ATC's letter states that scheduling conflicts with the drilling contractor have <br /> delayed the work,which is now scheduled to begin on 18 July 2005. <br /> The extension request is appropriate and approved, provided you submit a Report of the groundwater <br /> investigation by the 31 July 2005 date given in your letter request. The Report should include <br /> recommendations based on the investigation, and also include a Workplan for additional monitoring <br /> wells if petroleum hydrocarbons and oxygenate/fuel scavenger additives are found in the deeper aquifer. <br /> Please provide at least three working days prior notice to San Joaquin County and me for any changes to <br /> the fieldwork schedule.
