The area across Weber Avenue, north of the site, previously was occupied by freight
sheds and transportation loading terminals. An open Stockton Channel extended to El Dorado
Street. By the early 1950's, the Stockton Channel was covered by an aboveground parking lot.
Also, a Shell gasoline service station existed north of the Stockton Channel. The service station
was later operated by Bridgestone Tire automobile repair facility. Northeast of the site at 130
El Dorado there was a Goodyear Tire and Auto Repair facility and boat and motor freight
terminal. Northwest of the site, across the Stockton Channel, there was an ARCO gasoline
service station. Industrial railroad tracks previously traversed Weber Avenue.
2.8 Site Rendering, Map, or Site Plan
The site plan is included in Appendix B.
B&V Project 62041.100 2-3
N:\62041\Phase-l.doc(1/27/99)
