2,0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The objectives of this investigation were to assess the lateral extent of impacted groundwater and <br /> to establish a groundwater monitoring capability at the site To achieve these objectives, three <br /> on-site groundwater table monitoring wells were permitted, installed, surveyed, monitored and <br /> sampled Due to the unavailability of water well completion reports for San Joaquin County at the <br /> California Department of Water Resources (DWR), the proposed water well survey has not yet <br /> been completed The water well survey will be completed and documented in a subsequent <br /> quarterly groundwater monitoring report <br /> 21 Project Planning <br /> Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan addendum was prepared <br /> according to 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety plan included safety procedures, chemical <br /> hazard information, site safety officers, and preferred medical emergency locations <br /> 0 PHSIEHD issued permit SR#0023467 to complete the on-site monitoring wells <br /> On July 20, 200 <br /> A copy of the approved permit is included in Appendix A At least two working days prior to <br /> drilling, PHSIEHD and Underground Service Alert (USA)were notified so that regulatory and utility <br /> clearance inspections could be scheduled Underground utilities were marked by USA member <br /> utilities under USA Ticket#243994 <br /> 22 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installations <br /> On August 31 and September 1, 2000, Ramage Environmental supervised V&W Drilling, Inc (C- <br /> 57 License#720904) install three on-site groundwater table monitoring wells to establish a <br /> groundwater monitoring capability at the site The locations of the three wells, designated MW-1, <br />' MW-2, and MW-3, are shown on Figure 2 <br /> 2 2 1 Monitorrn_q Well Construction Development and Surve <br /> V&W Drilling installed all three wells in 8-inch diameter soil borings dulled to a depth of 87 feet <br /> bgs using a truck-mounted drill rig, equipped with hollow stem augers All three wells consisted of <br /> 20 feet of two-inch diameter, Schedule 40, flush-threaded and machine-slotted (0 020-inch) <br /> polyvinyl chloride (PVC) well screen, spanning from approximately 67 to 87 feet bgs Blank PVC <br /> casings were threaded into the tops of the well screens and extended to the surface <br /> 9 <br />
