CES
GENESIS ENGINEERING&REDEVELOPMENT
• TPH by EPA 8015B
• VOC by EPA 8260B
• SVOC by EPA 8270C
2.5 Nature and Extent of Contamination
Based on analytical results from shallow soil samples, 13 areas of concern("AOC")were
identified across the Site (Figure 3). The AOC were defined based on concentrations that
exceeded:
• HHRA Note No. 2 (April 2017)
• HHRA Note No. 3 (June 2016)
• USEPA Regional Screening Levels("RSL") (Feb. 2016)
• Background Concentrations
The constituents of potential concern("COPC") are arsenic, lead, cadmium,TPH as diesel
("TPH-d"),TPH as motor oil ("TPH-o"), PCB, and dioxin. The 13 AOC are shown on
Figure 3, and are summarized on the tables below that show the COPC, regulatory screening
criteria, and maximum concentration detected in each AOC. Data summary tables for all
analyses reported in Arcadis(2012) are included in Appendix A, and sampling locations are
shown on Figure 3.
AOC 1
Two soil samples from depths of 0.5 feet exceeded the arsenic background concentration.
COPC Screening Level or Maximum Units
Background Concentration
Arsenic 12 28 mg/kg
AOC 2
One soil sample from a depth of 0.5 feet exceeded the arsenic background concentration.
COPC Screening Level or Maximum Units
Background Concentration
Arsenic 12 22 mg/kg
Former Gordon Research Company Property 3 of 20
Removal Action Workplan
June 2017
