The Manager should compare this with
the previous sales report (unless it is the first day of the month) to
determine how many gallons were gained or lost during the previous day's
business.
If the gallons gained or lost vary more than an amount specified by current
guidelines, the Manager is required to:
Check the Inventory Control Records
The storage tanks should be restuck and adjusted for sales since opening and
the Daily Sales Report calculations checked. If this procedure verifies a
product loss, and when a leak is suspected, check the following:
1. The dispenser for proper calabration.
2. All visible piping for loose fittings or apparent damage while the
dispenser is activated and the pipes are at operating pressure.
3. The pump unit during operation for:
a. Faulty seals and gaskets
b. Loose fittings
C. Any apparent damage
d. Odor or evidence of product in the access box
4. The fillcaps securely installed and locked.
The fillpipes are secure (not loose) .
5. The surrounding area for evidence of a leak/spill.
a. Any complaints from neighbors or gasoline odors? If so, when?
Where?
b. Evidence of seepage in: sewer manholes, drains, basements,
drainage ditch, or creek, etc. If so, where? How much?
Important! If evidence of product is found in any of these situations,
notify Manager, Supervisor, Area Manager, local Fire
Department, and Health, Safety, and Security Department
immediately!
7.3-002
li.
