The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for JAAS AUTO SERVICE as of Apri129, 2019. <br /> Open violations from August 02, 2016 inspection <br /> Violation#502 - Failed to comply with new hazardous waste tank system assessment requirements. <br /> Facility does not have a tank assessment for the used oil tank on the south end of the facility. The owner or <br /> operator of a hazardous waste tank shall obtain a written assessment reviewed and certified by an independent, <br /> qualified, professional engineer, registered in California attesting that the system has sufficient structural integrity, is <br /> acceptable for the transferring, storing, and treating of hazardous waste, and that the tanks and containment system <br /> are suitably designed. Immediately have an assessment prepared for the 400 gallon used oil tank. Submit a <br /> schedule showing when this will be accomplished to the EHD. <br /> Violation#507 - Failed to conduct daily inspections of hazardous waste tank system and maintain records <br /> onsite. <br /> Inspections of the hazardous waste tank system was not performed and documented. The following items are <br /> required to be inspected at least daily: <br /> 1. overfill/spill control equipment; <br /> 2. aboveground portions of the tank system to detect corrosion or releases of water; <br /> 3. data gathered from monitoring and leak-detection equipment; <br /> 4. outside areas of the tank system including secondary containment to detect erosion or signs of releases of <br /> hazardous waste; <br /> 5. for uncovered tanks, the level of waste in the tank. <br /> Immediately begin required inspections of the hazardous waste tank system, and document the items inspected. <br /> Submit a copy of the inspection log for the next 30 days to the EHD. <br /> Violation #601 -Stored hazardous waste on site longer than 90 days without a permit or authorization. <br /> Facilities who generate more than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month may store waste on site up to 90 days. <br /> The following containers were found missing a hazardous waste label or any information: <br /> -Two black, steel, 55 gallon drums of waste oil were observed without a label or other information <br /> -One blue, steel, 55 gallon drum of waste oil was observed without a label or other information <br /> Since it cannot be determined how long the hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed <br /> hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest. Submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD within 30 <br /> days. <br /> Violation #605 -Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> The following containers were missing hazardous waste labels <br /> -One black, steel, 55 gallon drum of waste oil were observed without a readable generator address. <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> -the words"Hazardous Waste" <br /> - name and address of generator <br /> - hazardous properties <br /> - physical state <br /> -composition (contents) <br /> -accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information. <br /> Page 8 of 17 <br />
