Robert Lopez [EH]
From: Walter, Stephanie <Walter-Stephanie@aramark.com>
Sent: Friday, May 31, 2019 10:00 AM
To: Robert Lopez [EH]
Cc: Henry, Michelle D; Armbruster, Rebecca; BROWN, ANTHONY;Austin, Vaughn; Borba,
Brett; Dikos, Tom; Kelly McDaniel
Subject: Aramark Stockton Facility- Return to Compliance Certification (PR0519288)
Attachments: 2019 Return to Compliance Certification.pdf; Spill Response Training (5-29-19).pdf;
Training Roster & Materials for ERP (5-30-19).pdf; HMBP maps (5-30-19).pdf
Mr. Lopez,
Please find attached Aramark's Return to Compliance Certification for the inspection conducted on April 4,
2019. Aramark has previously submitted documentation to your office to resolve several of the outstanding inspection
items. Below is an update regarding the remaining outstanding items that have now been corrected as discussed during
our conference call with Anthony Brown and Becky Armbruster on May 29, 2019.
• Violation#5, Inventory not complete.
- Violation: The hazardous component information for Emax Alkali has not been completed.
- Corrective Action: During our conference call on May 29th, we explained that Emax Alkali is no longer used at
the plant and was replaced with Performance XXL Alkali, which was added to Aramark's chemical inventory on
CERS. You checked CERS during our call and stated that this item was corrected.
• Violation#6,the site map is not complete.
- Violation: The site map does not address access and exit points (south entrance from the street), hazardous
material handling and storage areas for most of the chemicals reported in the hazardous materials inventory
including the outside hazardous waste storage, and the legend does not identify some of the codes and symbols
used on the map. A site map shall contain a north orientation, loading areas, internal roads, adjacent streets,
storm and sewer drains, access and exit points, emergency shutoffs, evacuation staging areas, hazardous
material handling and storage areas, and emergency response equipment. If a site map element is not
applicable for your facility then list it on the map and label as "NA".
- Corrective Action:
■ Aramark has uploaded a corrected site map to CERS that includes the south entrance from the street and a
legend for each number, code, and symbol (see attached). A CAD drawing of the revised site map will be
uploaded next week that will replace this revised site map.
■ During our conference call on May 29', we also clarified that the drums have been removed from the
outside dock area and properly disposed of. Therefore, the outside waste storage area in the dock area of
the facility is no longer shown on the site map.
• Violation#8.
- Violation: The training program lacks training of the immediate notification contacts to the appropriate local
emergency response personnel and the Environmental Health Department.
