3.0 ENVIRONMENTAL RECORD SEARCH
3.1 GOVERNMENT AGENCY DATABASES
SECOR has reviewed government databases that contain information on environmental
concerns for nearby properties. The existing ARCO AMIPM facility was not listed on any
of the databases as an environmentally-impacted or potentially-impacted site; nor was the
subject property listed on environmental permit databases (the BBL database search report
is enclosed in Appendix A). Several sites within a ane-quarter mile radius of the proposed
ARCO site were listed on the databases.
31.1 Sites with Environmental Concerns
The California Regional Water Quality Control Board or local Department of Health
Services keeps track of toxic releases to the environment. These lists are known as
Unauthorized Releases, Spills, Leaks, Investigations and Cleanups (SLIC), Non-Tank
Releases, Toxics List or similar.
Twelve sites with environmental concerns were listed on the database within one-quarter mile
from the proposed ARCO Facility. Two of the twelve sites are located within 0.1 to 0.2 mile
and include those listed below: F
Site: Indy Electronics '
Location: Approximately 0.1 miles east (cross\upgradient) at 400 Industrial Park
Drive.
Site: Cal West Concrete Cutting, Inc.
Location: Approximately 0.2 miles east (cross\upgradient) at 1153 Vanderbilt
+ Circle.
i
As reported by various agency records, the Indy Electronics has a history of Multiple releases
of sodium hydroxide, wastewater and sulfuric acid and is assigned a "no further action
required" status. The Cal-West Concrete Cutting has a reported gasoline leak and has
reportedly excavated and removed contaminated soil and may have potentially impacted the
groundwater.
i Based on groundwater depth, assumed flow direction to, the west, and the information
described above, the above sites and other upgradient sites (site nos. 6, 9, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19
and 21, see BBL Appendix A) may have potentially impacted soil and groundwater at
upgradient locations and present a moderate potential for impact to groundwater beneath
the subject ARCO site.
]N 4"1,091-01
dec-%\arcmteca.esa 3-1
5
