IkLI`r
I
TrOadwelERogo
and 21. OU1 is comprised of parcels with only soil contamination, whereas OU2 contains
parcels with both groundwater and soil contamination.
The selected remedial method outlined in the RAP to cleanup soil exceeding the RAOs was
hot-spot excavation and off-site disposal.
Between December 2003 and March 2004 all structures were demolished at the Site. During
March 2004, all of wells at the Site were destroyed in accordance with California well
destruction guidelines and SJCEHD"requirements.
During March and April 2004, Evans Brothers completed the RAP excavations under the
oversight of Treadwell & Rollo personnel. Confirmation samples were collected from the base
and sidewalls of each excavation in accordance with the RDIP procedures. .The RAP
excavations comprised approximately 2;677 cy of soil, which were stockpiled and sampled for
landfill characterization. After the.Iaboratory analytical results for the confirmation samples
showed that all RAOs were met, Evans Brothers backfilled the RAP excavations with soil from
other parts of the Site that was excavated for development of the new baseball stadium and
indoor sports arena. During April'2004, Evans Brothers transported and disposed of all of the
soil from the RAP excavations (3,794 tons).
The groundwater monitoring programs at each area in OU2 are under the supervision of the
illl
SJCEHD, and each area is enrolled in the California Underground Storage-Tank Cleanup Fund.
Groundwater monitoring and remediation programs at these areas will be completed under the
G g p g
oversight of the SJCEHD and RWQCB after Site redevelopment or remedial construction is
completed.
As documented in this report, the soil remediation proposed in the RAP and RDIP at the North
Shore Parcels is complete. On the basis of the soil remedial activities performed, the established
i
RAOs, and the confirmation sampling results,- the Site soil is recommended No Further Action.
25971025.DGD 22 11 August 2005
